Outdoor Areas
Research suggests that there are huge benefits to outdoor learning: children’s mental health and well-being are improved, relationships with nature develop, education becomes more inclusive and curriculum learning along with child development becomes more enhanced.
At Beaupre, we are extremely lucky to have such a beautiful, large and exciting outdoor environment.
Our outdoor area consists of:
- 2 outdoor classrooms
- A fantastic EYFS outdoor learning space (please see the EYFS website page for more details)
- An adventure playground with outdoor stage
- A forest area
- A pond
- A large playing field with a story chair
- A clamber frame with tyres and an interactive stopwatch
- A climbing wall
- A good-sized playground with benches, nets and games marked to encourage play
Our forest area is used every week by our EYFS Class, and we are currently enhancing the space so that it can be utilised by our whole school community. Our outdoor classrooms are used for story times and small group work and all our children have the opportunity to use the adventure playground and clamber regularly.
We are very proud and privileged to have such a great outdoor space, and we encourage learning outside as often as possible. These are all very popular spaces where the children learn about play, friendships, teamwork as well as just enjoying being in the great outdoors!
Please see our documents at the bottom of the page for updates on our thriving woodland project.
